What is The Adult Day Program?
The Adult Day Program at Red Roof Retreat offers physical and personal care, social and emotional support, recreational and leisure activities, both at The Ranch and within the community, for young adults with special needs. Our staff members are trained in all aspects of care required for those with needs from mild to complex. Our programs can be intended for those requiring one-to-one support or those requiring one-to-three support. Fees vary depending on level of care required.

Who can attend The Adult Day Program?
The Adult Day Program is for young adults with special needs ages 21 to 40. These individuals may be enrolled in other community programs and looking for more options; or, they may not be served elsewhere and are looking for an opportunity to be out in the community in a safe and supported way.

What does The Adult Day Program provide for the clients?
The Adult Day Program runs Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4:00pm at The Ranch in Niagara-on-the-Lake and at our Community Centre at Cornerstone Community Church - Orchard Campus in Niagara on the lake.
We plan outings in the community outing in Niagara on the Lake and St. Catharines, including walks along the Niagara Parkway, Butterfly Conservatory, Niagara Falls Bird Kingdom, bowling, shopping and other outings deemed appropriate for our clients.
Clients may enroll in a part-time or full-time schedule to be negotiated between the family and the Red Roof Retreat staff.
What is the value of The Adult Day Program?
Red Roof Retreat believes that all of its members of the community need to be seen, respected and immersed in as many meaningful experiences as possible. The Adult Day Program takes clients with special needs out of their homes and gives them an opportunity to be involved in their communities in a safe and enjoyable way. This is in fact their right.

How do clients access The Adult Day Program at Red Roof Retreat?
Families may contact our office to express interest in enrollment. Our staff will do a home visit first to meet the family and client, provide an overview of information about the program and review funding. Families are required to complete a Medical Information package, Plan of Care and consent forms that enable us to determine what programming is most appropriate. Staff members are available to work with families, and other agencies they receive services from, to plan an integrated approach of care. All accepted families and clients must review the Rights of the Client and sign a Service Agreement.

How do clients pay for The Adult Day Program services?
Families can pay for services themselves or they may use funding provided through Passport Niagara (applications available on-line at Developmental Services Ontario or ODSP (Ontario Disability Support Program). Funding differs for each family’s and client’s needs, and Red Roof Retreat staff members will assist families in deciding on the level of service they can receive.

Cost for The Adult Day Program ranges from $100 to $150 per day or any part thereof. Cost and billing options are negotiated with the family.
